Transmitter
If you have ever set up an AV receiver you will understand that it is a complex beast. There are a host of inputs, outputs and other settings that can be extremely confusing to someone without a degree in audio engineering.
The Violet transmitter was designed to be as simple as possible without confusing the customer with too many options.
With these options you can connect your DVD player, Satellite TV HD set top box, & your iPod & still have the option to connect your internet set top box, game console etc.
The transmitter is the brain of the system; wirelessly transmitting the audio to the speakers, coordinating the timing of the speakers & modifying the source audio to reproduce the right sound at the right time at each speaker by understanding the geometry of the room & placement of the speakers amongst other things.
All of this complexity is encased in a simple box. The user only needs switch it on, select the source and adjust the required volume. The transmitter works its magic after that.
One of the other challenges of an AV receiver is the requirement to select the right cables to match the impedance of the speaker you select. The maximum power is transferred from the receiver to the speaker when the impedance is matched. Impedance varies with frequency making for fairly complex calculations. However, with wireless speakers this is no longer an issue.
